Need to find a condom? There’s an app for that

Launched ahead of World AIDS day, a new Apple iPhone application helps people find their nearest condom dispenser in two US cities. The launch of iCondom in the USA follows the launch of an app for Paris and Marseilles.

The iPhone app uses the iPhone’s geo-location facilities to find and direct users to more than 200 locations in New York where free condoms/ femidoms together with lubricants are available. The locations includes bars, restaurants, night clubs and hospitals. A further 140 locations are listed for Washington DC.

Users are invited to suggest locations missed out to ensure that as many are listed as possible.

The application is being offered free in the iTunes store for World AIDS day.
