      People Magazine now offers free subscription to subscribers from their iPad. Well this arrangement did not come easily. After a long argue for months with Apple over offering its subscribers free access to its iPad application, The Time, on Thursday announced that its iPad application for 'People' will be free to readers who subscribe to the print magazine from their iPad.The Time now would provide its print subscribers with a mechanism to download magazine apps for the iPad without any pay. While non-subscribers can buy an issue for $3.99 each. An annual subscription for the print magazine costs $100.

    According to Philip Elmer-DeWitt of Fortune, The Time's other publications (including Fortune, Time, and Sports Illustrated) are expected to follow the footsteps of People Magazine, adopting the same price rate within next 30 days. [via]
